Green Building, Ergonomics, and ESG - What We Need to Know
Maxime welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of the "Club ESG" initiative, aimed at providing a dynamic platform for ESG professionals to share opportunities and challenges. Stanley Chao from York Business discussed the evolving trends in modern workplaces, focusing on green buildings, ergonomics, and their alignment with ESG goals. Green buildings, with features like energy efficiency and sustainable materials, are becoming increasingly important, with more than 50% of companies aiming for net-zero emissions. The 2024 Asia Pacific Office Occupier Survey revealed underutilized office spaces and the rise of flexible work environments. David Lo from Good Point Exchange presented the company’s sustainable initiatives, including reforestation, land restoration, and marine recycling, alongside their Green Book, which offers resources for businesses seeking sustainable solutions. Shawn Jang from RCI shared insights on green building practices, emphasizing energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and the health benefits for occupants. These sustainable buildings also offer financial benefits, such as increased property value and lower operating costs. The meeting concluded with a look ahead to the next ESG Club meeting in June 2025 at Thales offices.
